Take a tour around a key brewery on the Bermondsey Beer Mile
Taste three beers and take home a bottle each
See the Thames from a new perspective and take in some of the great sights of our capital city from the river. Jump aboard this high-speed powerboat, otherwise known as a Thames Rocket, and get ready for fun. There is a safety briefing to start with before being kitted out with the gear. The skipper takes you up and down the river, pointing out the sights so sit back and hold on! Afterwards head off on the Southwark Brewery tour. Led by expert guides, get a look at beer production. Take a tour together of the on-site facilities and learn about the brewing process, and sample the delights of one of the key breweries of the Bermondsey Beer Mile. Sip on 1/3 pints of three delicious real ales and Take home a bottle of beer each from the tour.
Thursdays throughout the year. The brewery tour takes place in the evening and the powerboat ride can be taken between 10am to 6pm. Please book at least a month in advance.
Alcohol is part of this experience so the minimum age is 18. Please note there is no alcohol served on the Thames Rockets powerboat, only at the brewery.
The powerboat ride lasts around one hour and fifteen minutes, including around 50 minutes on the water. Expect to be on the brewery tour for around an hour.
Numbers on the Day
Share the Thames Rockets boat with up to 10 other passengers while a maximum of 16 beer enthusiasts can take part in the brewery tour.
For the boating, wear flat-soled shoes. Lifejackets are provided (you may get wet), please secure glasses with a safety strap to make sure they aren't blown away. Wear covered shoes for the tour of the brewery.
All skippers are commercially qualified, with years of experience driving high-speed RIBs. Southwark brewery is a working brewery, so not all areas will be visible to visitors.
