Experience the pure thrill of a high-speed blast on the Solent aboard a Honda offshore powerboat, exclusive to four people. Hold on tight as an experienced instructor pushes the vessel to the limit with a wild ride on a challenging offshore circuit. After gently cruising down Southampton water, your skipper opens up the throttle as it heads out to the Solent. Enjoy an amazing demonstration of wave jumping, high-speed cornering, racing lines and starts. Then, everyone gets to grab the wheel (at the instructor's discretion) for two laps of the offshore circuit to put their powerboating skills to the ultimate test. The vessel operates within Southampton water and, weather permitting, out onto the Solent on this truly unforgettable day out.
Weekend dates from April - mid October. Book at least four weeks in advance (please be aware that bookings are taken up to a maximum of three months ahead).
Minimum age is 12 but under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. Min height is 5'. Maximum weight is 17 stone. This experience isn't suitable for anyone with a serious back or heart complaint, or for pregnant women.
Powerboating is a weather-dependent activity. It's essential that you call the venue for a weather check between 5pm and 7pm on the day before your experience to check weather conditions.
An hour and a half including a safety briefing, one hour on the water, five minutes driving time and a debrief. Please arrive up to half an hour in advance of your booked time, the boat can't wait for latecomers.
Numbers on the Day
This experience is exclusive to four people, plus a seasoned skipper.
Spectators are welcome to wave you off from the shore. Tell them to bring a camera and a pair of binoculars.
Dress warmly and bring waterproofs and a change of clothes. Bear in mind that there is a high wind-chill factor aboard the boat. Wear non-slip shoes (e.g. trainers or deck shoes). An old pair of sunglasses/ski goggles will be useful if it is windy.
