
Birdwatching Cruise on a Thames Sailing Barge in Ipswich
Overview
Set out from Ipswich Dock in Suffolk for an interesting and relaxing birdwatching cruise. Ipswich Dock, once home to a large fleet of working barges, is now filled with top cafes and shops. Board a traditional barge before heading under the Orwell Bridge and going out on to the river. Experts from the Essex Wildlife Trust are on board to help spot and identify an impressive amount of wildfowl, migrants and waders as you pass Rivers Orwell and Stour, with many large country houses on their banks. In between all the beautiful natural and man-made sights, tuck into a hearty lunch and chat with fellow enthusiasts. This wonderful trip for bird and nature lovers cruises back leisurely via Parkestone Bird Reserve to the point of departure - enjoy.

The experience takes place in all weather conditions apart from extreme conditions such as flooding. - Duration

Dress for the weather with a hat, sunglasses and sun cream in summer. Please avoid high heels.
