Chocks away, you're up in the air, admiring the views
Turn upside down and inside out with this aerobatic flight
Climb aboard a De Havilland Chipmunk aeroplane and see just what these aerobatic craft are capable of. From Shoreham Airport in West Sussex, you will be greeted on arrival and can chat to your instructor about any specific requirements. There will be some comprehensive training to go through on the ground first. Then board and hang on tight for the ride! The instructor will have you upside down as the plane does rolls, loops and stall turns. For those who are feeling brave, if the instructor agrees, take over the controls and have a go at flying yourself.
Seven days a week throughout the year except Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Please allow several weeks notice when booking, particularly for the most popular weekend summer dates.
Minimum age 16, max weight 19 stone (must be in proportion with height). Pregnant women, anyone who has suffered a neck, back or shoulder injury or is unable to climb aboard unaided can't fly for health and safety reasons.
Aerobatic flying is very weather dependent. It is crucial that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of bad weather you'll be re-booked for an alternative date or time.
Chocks-off to chocks-on flight time is 20 minutes, but please allow for up to an hour at the centre.
Numbers on the Day
Share the aircraft with just the pilot. The briefing session may be shared.
Spectators are welcome. A camera or a pair of binoculars will come in handy - there will be some great photo opportunities. Pets are not permitted at any airfield (except guide dogs).
Wear flat, soft-soled shoes. Any special clothing and headsets will be provided. Bring gloves in cold weather. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.
We suggest that you only have a light meal at least 45 minutes before your flight. Please don't drink alcohol before you fly - it will invalidate your flight.
