Strapped in to an ex-military Bulldog; complete a series of quick-fire missions with some breathtaking aerobatic manoeuvres. Begin with a flight and safety briefing from an ex-military instructor before getting kitted out in a flying suit. Then take to the air in the Bulldog, sitting alongside the instructor during a thrilling aerobatic flight demo. Take the controls to locate a set of targets, whilst maintaining heading and speed. At each target, circle once to get the info required to complete the mission. The instructor might also hand out some additional tasks at short notice, so be ready!
Flights operate all year round, Monday to SaturdayThere are often air display commitments during summer weekends, so weekday availability is usually better.
Minimum age is 16, maximum height is 6'4''. Maximum weight is 17 stone. Over 61's must supply a doctor's letter confirming suitability and complete and return a medical questionnaire before participating.
Flying is dependent on the weather and it is crucial to call the venue the afternoon before the flight for a weather check.
Expect to spend between two and three hours on-site, with around 35 minutes in the aeroplane and up to 30 minutes 'hands on stick' time. Actual flying time is at the instructor's discretion.
Numbers on the Day
Share the aircraft with just the instructor. All briefings are shared.
There are cafe and bar facilities and up to two spectators are welcome (and can join in during the briefings). We strongly recommend someone else drives home; this is a high-adrenaline experience which can be very tiring.
Wear flat shoes with good grip - trainers are ideal. Women - please wear trousers not a skirt. A flying suit is provided.
The mission route varies depending on conditions on the day. The booking confirmation letter MUST be produced on the day.
