Take flight in a two seater Extra 300 aerobatic plane
High-adrenaline thrills as the plane goes through aerobatics
Try some manoeuvres, and tailchase the 'enemy' plane
Decide how far to push the boundaries and how much G-force to pull
Feel the need for speed and experience a variety of extreme aerobatic manoeuvres with an ex-military instructor, during this adrenaline fuelled flight. Begin with a detailed fight and safety briefing before getting in to a Top Gun-style flight suit and boarding a high performance lightweight two seater Extra 300 aircraft (as flown in the Red Bull air races) and taking to the skies, sharing the Sussex airspace with a second Extra 300. After an airborne tactic demonstration and series of formation manoeuvres, take the controls and try out some moves of your own. Tailchase the other plane, getting behind the 'enemy' and transmitting 'guns guns guns' to watch smoke surge from the craft in front. Decide how far to push the boundaries and how much G-force to pull.
Flights take place from Monday - Saturday all year long subject to weather and aircraft serviceability.
Minimum age is 16, minimum height is 5' and maximum height is 6'4''. Maximum weight is 15st7lbs. Over 61's must supply a doctor's letter confirming suitability and complete and return a medical questionnaire before participating.
Flying is dependent on the weather and it is crucial to call the venue the afternoon before the flight for a weather check.
The experience lasts for two to three hours, including safety briefings, parachute drill and around 30 minutes' flying. Actual flying time is at the instructor's discretion. There is a little standing around being trained for the extreme flying.
Numbers on the Day
Share the aircraft exclusively with the instructor. All briefings are shared.
There are cafe and bar facilities and up to two spectators are welcome (and can join in during the briefings). We strongly recommend someone else drives home; this is a high-adrenaline experience which can be very tiring.
Wear flat shoes with good grip - trainers are ideal. Women - please wear trousers not a skirt. A flying suit is provided.
Take the opportunity to do some aerobatic flying before landing.
