Family Steam Trip in Hampshire
Treat the family to a fun day out. Go back in time aboard the carriage of a stunning steam train to relax and enjoy the sights of the Hampshire countryside. Whatever the time of year, there is always much to see and do at the Watercress Line. The market town of Alresford is the perfect rural spot for a stroll. Stop off at Alton to sample some delicious dishes at the local restaurants or head to the Curtis Museum for the Jane Austen trail. Children can go behind the scenes to discover how the engines or make the most of the playground. Travelling the 10-mile line takes about 40 minutes. Your ticket gives all day unlimited travel, allowing you to hop on and off at any of the four stations adjoining the South Downs National Park.

Weekdays and weekend dates throughout the year, subject to availability. Book at least three months in advance.
- Participant Guidelines
Two adults (aged 18 or over) and two children (aged 2 to 16). Children under two travel for free and dogs £1 each. Trains and stations are accessible for wheelchair users. Dogs are welcome and travel free.
The weather should not affect this experience but if conditions are extreme please contact the station before leaving home.
Departure times vary between 10.10am - 5pm. Full details are posted with tickets after the booking has been made.
