Travel from a launch site in The Midlands
All flights are provided by certified CAA approved operators
For any high flyer, it doesn't get much better than hot air ballooning! Start off by meeting a professional pilot for a safety discussion before chipping in with the crew and other flyers for the setting up and inflation of the balloon. Once everything's ready, climb into the basket and set off on the aerial adventure. Ascend to amazing heights of up to 3,000 feet and enjoy utter peace, tranquillity and sensational views as the balloon gently floats through the sky. Upon returning to terra firma, help the crew to pack up before being driven back to the initial launch site to collect a commemorative flight certificate. Balloon operators vary, with some offering a slightly longer flight and others a glass of champagne on landing.
Weekends and weekdays from March/April to October/November at most venues. Flights take place at dawn or dusk, when the air is most stable. Dates fill very quickly, so book at least four weeks in advance.
Maximum weight 18 stone. Minimum height 4'6''. Minimum age is 8. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult. Ballooning isn't suitable for pregnant women. Any medical conditions must be declared in advance.
Ballooning is extremely weather dependent - it is crucial to call the venue before the flight. If postponed, an alternative date and location can be arranged (please contact the operator for information).
Actual flight length is determined by conditions on the day. The experience normally lasts around three hours, including one hour for inflating the balloon and one hour for packing the balloon away and returning to the launch site.
