Experience a whole new aerial buzz with this early bird hot air ballooning flight available at select launch sites across Northern England and Scotland. Upon arrival, meet the qualified pilot for a safety discussion before pitching in with the preparation and inflation of the balloon. Once everything is ready, it's time for the real adventure to start and everyone climbs into the basket. Soar up to 3,000 feet and marvel at sensational birds-eye views of the countryside, as the balloon gently drifts through the sky and cloud. Back on solid ground, help the rest of the crew pack up the balloon before toasting the flight with a glass of champagne or a soft drink each. To finish, each take home a flight certificate as a special memento of the trip.
Weekdays (excluding bank holidays) from March/April to October/November (depending on location). Flights take place at dawn, when the air is at its most stable.
Maximum weight is 18 stone. Minimum height is 4'6''. Minimum age is 8. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult. Not suitable for pregnant women. Medical conditions must be declared in advance.
Ballooning is extremely weather dependent - it is crucial that you call the venue before your flight. If postponed, you'll be offered an alternative date and can also request an alternative location (please contact the operator to arrange).
Actual flight length is determined by conditions on the day. the experience normally lasts around three hours, including one hour for inflating the balloon and one hour for packing the balloon away and returning to the launch site.
Numbers on the Day
Share with between 8 -16 other flyers, plus a qualified pilot.
Spectators are welcome to watch the launch and wave you off. A pair of binoculars or a camera will come in handy.
Wear trousers, long sleeves and sensible footwear (no high heels please). Please avoid loose scarves or jewellery. Bring a hat - the heat from the burner overhead can be intense. Launch and landing sites can be muddy.
