Sometimes we all need a break from the stress and strains of our busy lives, and a day at a health spa is the perfect way to unwind. Guests spend a full day at the spa with complete access to all the facilities on offer. These may vary from spa to spa, but are likely to include plunge pool, sauna, steam room and relaxation suite. Visitors with itchy feet should feel free to take part in the fitness and exercise classes on offer. At some locations a healthy lunch, afternoon tea or light refreshment is included and some venues include treatments. The exact experience differs according to the spa visited, but each venue leaves guests feeling refreshed, relaxed and revitalised, making this the perfect gift for special occasions.
Most spas offer a mixture of weekday and weekend dates, some are available weekdays only. Weekends can get very busy - book several weeks in advance.
Must be aged 16 - 18 or over (different spas vary, please check in advance of booking). All the spas welcome men and women.
Most spas invite arrival at opening time and guests can stay until closing time. Opening hours vary, but as a guide stay for up to nine hours.
Towels and robes may be provided, depending on the spa chosen; details given at point of booking.
Lunch, afternoon tea or refreshments are usually included, but will vary according to venue. Each spa offers a range of health and beauty treatments at additional cost. To book, please ask for details and allow at least three weeks booking notice.
My Mum and I went went for the Spa day including lunch at the Felbridge as we had heard great things.... but ended up being very disappointed and will not be going back.
The pool is tiny. The sauna and steam room were out of action. They started doing cleaning whillst we were in the jacuzzi and then looking in the drainage which didn't feel us with confidence.
The showers were dirty and there was a lack of room to change.
The food was slow and not well cooked.
Lovely day at the spa very relaxing experience quite small but has different areas so doesn't feel cramped. Spa staff very nice and treatments amazing loved the outdoor hot tub and sitting area.
I bought this experience day to treat my sister for her birthday, we both had a wonderful day and felt thoroughly relaxed! We both had a facial treatment and it was absolutely fantastic! All the staff were very lovely and looked after us well. I would definitely return to Charlton House.
The spa was below the hotel probably a former storage area. There are 2 changing rooms and one shower that I wouldn't use due to how dirty and mouldy it was. The changing area is ridiculously small. My massage was very enjoyable just a shame you could hear every movement above, and there was a lot. I could also hear the next room chatting the whole way through. The afternoon tea was appallingly bad I have seen better in Reeves the Bakers, really really bad. When we left there was a huge banner outside offering free membership which we didn't realise hence how busy it was too. Really do not recommend this gift, I haven't had the heart to tell my mother in law how bad it was.
I contacted the Spa Hotel with regards to classes and was informed that none were held. The promised slippers were not supplied as they had run out. The service in the restaurant was very slow. Outdoor shoes were worn within the swimming pool area. The treatments were excellent.
See box below/ but I have experienced so many better spa days with a lot better value for money. Nothing wrong with staff or the place. Except lack of facilities and the fact I had to pay an extra £100 to ADD TREATMENTS. And buy a drink to go with my food because that's not included??! Found that really bizarre. Only need a few hours if you go here. Not much to do if you aren't adding your own treatments for an extra cost!
The staff were all very friendly, cant fault them at all and my treatment was brilliant! It just wasn't the best spa I have been to - the Jacuzzi was cold and was later drained as it wasn't working, there was a lot of plastic cups and plastic (that the slippers etc came in) lying around the whole day, nobody tidied it up.
The afternoon tea was lovely but was meant to come with wine BUT I had to go to the bar and ask for it and show them the website to get it. Was a nice day out with my friend, just not the best spa experience I have had unfortunately, especially for the money
We do this every year and is the best experience ever if you want a chill out. Ist class.
First class day with good food and great staff !!
The spa was just a small pool small jacuzzi a tiny steam and sauna very disappointing not like any other spa I have been in before changing rooms very bare no spare towels No lovely smell either no different to my leisure center gym membership felt sorry for my daily wasting money bought 2 glasses of wine with our lunch which cost 15.00 rediculous price
Had a great day at Greenwoods, was lovely and quite in the morning, lunch was scrummy. Was busier in the afternoon and we could not get a bed around the pool, however we made use of the relaxation room.
My friend and I had a great day. Staff in the Spa were most helpful and friendly. On the whole we had a wonderful day got a pleasant surprise during our express facial when we found it included a head massage. We left the Hallmark feeling great. Thanks to all staff you made us feel most welcome. Will come back again
The massage was excellent, I had Holly, and she gave a really good massage, I really did feel the muscles start to relax. Nice that we were able to use the room with the two massage beds, made it more of a shared experience. Holly then did my manicure, which again was very good. We decided not to use the gym, as it didn't seem to fit with our idea of relaxing, although the chance to join in some of the classes on offer throughout the day would, I am sure appeal to many people. We don't drink tea, so chose hot chocolate, although I am sure a cold drink would also be offered if requested. The food was good, although a few tweaks would make it excellent. A good range of sandwiches, lots of slices of cake (I would prefer individual ones) (mini bagels were toasted - were they going stale?) Scones were lovely and warm (although a bit biscuit like in texture) served with a very generous portion of clotted cream with little pots of jam. Overall really good, I am being picky.
The food was the highlight of the day it was excellent. The spa is ok but has no jacuzzi, and was not provided with the slippers a robe it said we were to have. Booking was poor no one answered when they did I was told they would call back they didn't. On arrival Lady on desk in spa had no idea how to check our booking. Staff in restaurant were good.
First SPA experience and it did meet our expectations. Service was great, lunch was really really good. Felt really spoiled. We'll definitely have many more.
Loved it! Staff nice happy and friendly made us feel welcome ...
Lovely relaxing environment and lunch was superb.
The use of the facilites were amazing! A prestine environment set to relax you! The only thing i would say is that no treatments were included in this bundle however the price paid was worth the amazing, remarkable service provided. The menu choices available on the 3 course meal were divine. A beautiful meal in a lovely and peaceful area. You are made to feel like royalty and i would definitely recommend this activity to anyone wanting a relaxed and beautiful stay at a wonderful resort.
My colleague and myself absolutely enjoyed our day at Wildmoor Spa. We were welcomed politely and all the staff were approachable. We had a tour around the Spa itself and shown the facilities that we would be using. The electronic key was easy to use. We used the spa freely. Our meal was amazing, very tasty, generous portions and presented nicely at our 'reserved' table. I was so relaxed that I fell asleep by the pool and felt very comfortable whilst there. The pool and hydrotherapy pool was clean, atmosphere and lighting were fantastic. There was plenty of room and not too busy. I would love to return to have further treatments and spa days as i came away feeling special, relaxed and didnt want to leave! I thought the staff were very knowledgable. Changing facilities were all so clean, well stocked and plenty of room. Parking was easy and so was finding the venue. A great stress relief! cant wait till next time. Thank you
What a wonderful relaxing day at Balmoral Spa in Edinburgh I had with my friend. The Spa was lovely and the staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. Our lunch was first class and we had a fabulous massage 55 mins which was sheer luxury. Hope to be back again :)
