A perfect afternoon tea. Extra fresh sandwiches, delicious cakes, warm, straight-from-the-oven scones and clotted cream. Large dining room beautiful gardens and grounds to wander round in afterwards. What more could you ask?
Went to have afternoon tea with great expectations. Was very disappointed. We had our niece over from America and wanted to show her how elegant we can be in this Country. The tea was served in the bar, on a bar table with no table cloth. The sandwich fillings were hardly fine living. Cheese and pickle for after noon tea? Cucumber with cream cheese and ham with lots of mustard. No choice of cakes chocolate all the way. Had to ask for refill for teas and coffee. Asked on arrival if the tea could be served elsewhere but told no. Would not recommend this to anyone and hope you don't either. American niece totally unimpressed!
A lovely venue which I have used previously. whilst we enjoyed it it wasn't as nice as the first time.
Had an enjoyable afternoon at Farrington Lodge. It was a lovely sunny day and the grounds looked beautiful. We were shown into the dining room where some other guests were also having afternoon tea. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the food was delicious. There were more cakes than we could eat so the remainder were packed up into a cake box.
We would definitely go back again.
The staff were very attentive. (My wife is a wheelchair bound vegetarian). The food was excellent, and the "doggy bag" was a surprise bonus.
a fabulous afternoon with brilliant food and equally good service we both really enjoyed it
Fantastic venue. The staff were great and very welcoming. The afternoon tea was lovely. It was a real treat and would definitely recommend it.
Comfortable lounge in old world surroundings, friendly staff.
My Husband and l had a nice afternoon at Charingworth Manor the surroundings were so nice it was so quite and peaceful there. on a man's point of few there could have been a few more sandwiches. The staff were very friendly
Grovefield House is a great setting for afternoon tea. We were a party of six. We has tables set up on the lawn - white linen clothes and napkins. As much tea and coffee as we wanted. Three cake stands with delicious finger sandwiches - six varieties. Scones, jam and cream (still warm!) A selection of mini cakes - all involving cream! We were six hungry adults and we didn't finish it all.
Fantastic place and very friendly staff
Tea was lovely everything was fresh and home made.We would definately go there again. The waiter was polite and attentive
How nice to be offered a choice of sandwiches to chose from, warm scones, lovely cakes and tea that flowed effortlessly. nothing was to much trouble for the wonderful staff.
The Queens Head is set in a very pretty part of Northamptonshire, the tea was delicious, the tea itself was piping hot and plenty of refills offered. Nothing too much trouble for the staff, dining room and facilities were to a high standard. Very enjoyable and plenty of walks around if you wished to 'walk your tea off'
Great Service, food was lovely and no rush to get you out the door
We often give and receive an afternoon tea voucher for the Grinkle. Perfect setting and food spot on. Service is great too.
We have been going to Grovefield House Hotel for the last two years for afternoon tea. The food is always nice and it's much better that they allow you to chose which sandwiches you want as not everyone likes everything.
The service this time though was very poor. Not once were we asked how things were or if we wanted extra tea and coffee. In the end we had to get up to find the waitress and ask her, even then she seemed a little shocked that we'd asked.
The service has never been great but it's still one of the nicest afternoon teas we've been to so we will continue to go.
My friend and I enjoyed a typical afternoon tea in front a great log fire. The bread was particularly light and tasty.
The staff were very attentive and we felt we no pressure to hurry(in fact we were encouraged to have yet another pot of tea before we left) Nice, comfortable surrounding, altogether a perfect birthday tea for two.
We were well looked after by the staff and had a table right next to the window overlooking the gardens. There was a good selection of teas and sandwiches to choose from. The afternoon tea arrived very quickly and we left feeling super full, probably should have asked for a doggy bag instead of eating it all!!!
Very relaxing luxurious treat, beautiful surroundings, attention to details second to none. Would definitely recomend it to friends and family Thank you
