The food was very tasty and plentiful - we couldn't manage all the cakes which is unusual for us as we love them!
This afternoon tea at The Grovefield Hotel Burnham, was a Mothers Day gift that I couldn't use earlier. As Nov 11th was a significant date to me, I used it on that date instead.
Our afternoon tea was delicious. We enjoyed looking out at the gardens on a windy autumn day from a cosy setting. A lovely experience all round, great food with pleasant staff.
Arrived at venue in driving rain and howling wind which made the warm welcome from the reception staff even more appealing. Afternoon tea was a delight and one that we would be happy to repeat. We especially enjoyed the wide selection of sandwiches available
as it was a Christmas gift for a special occasion there was nothing special about it,
service was poor
hotel staff miserable.
on the up side venue ok
The service was excellent. We had a nice view over the garden. The sandwiches, scones and cakes (mostly more like mini-desserts) were delicious
It was a very pleasant afternoon in beautiful grounds and the stone house was impressive.
The food was delicious!!
Booked on the day as the weather was perfect, sat nav sent us to the back of Charingworth Manor and a locked gate, so a detour was necessary making us about 15 minutes late. This was not a problem, staff were polite and attentive throughout, we were seated in the lounge, a pot of tea was served immediately followed by our choice of sandwiches, 2 slices of cake, a choux bun and 2 scones each with jam and cream. Delicious. We finished off another pot of tea and then had a stroll around the delightful gardens. A much appreciated gift from friends.
Good ambiance but smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich filling disappointing. The filling turned out to be a paste - we had expected to see a slice of smoked salmon.
What a super place to pause on our trip up the east coast in our hired mgb with our hair blowing in the wind. Lovely surroundings plenty to eat, we even came back with a doggy bag . We will return.
Charingworth Manor is a great location for any dining experience, full of character, the lounges are comfortable and the staff welcoming and professional . The food is of the highest quality, we will return again for another enjoyable meal.
A wonderful setting for a celebration, super service and plenty of tasty treats to tickle the taste buds.
staff friendly, coffee good sandwiches lovely but sadly the three cakes were heavy stodgy and tasteless and very inferior quality compared to other afternoon teas we have had this year.
Lovely place & lovely afternoon. Nice choice of sandwiches but tasted like they may have been stood for a while waiting to be served as slightly stale bread. Great service too.
Took Friends for Afternoon Tea as we had been before.Good choice of Sandwiches and Tea plenty of scones and cakes.Staff very attentive in a beautiful setting.
The service was excellent the tea and food was mouth watering.
The only comment is it would have been nicer to have loose tea not teabags and a pot of hot water to refresh the teapot, otherwise excellent tea and service.
I chose this venue as it was where my husband and I had our wedding reception almost 23 years ago!
The dining room is stylish and looks out over the surrounding countryside. The service was attentive, without being overdone. The afternoon tea consisted of a selection of drinks and delicately cut sandwiches, followed by scones, jam and cream and an array of mini cakes and a delicious panne cotta.
There was plenty to eat but it wasn't over facing and the whole experience was relaxing and very civilised.
I would definitely recommend Bagden Hall and will look forward to returning there again in the future
We had this experience bought for us by my son as a Christmas present. What a lovely afternoon we had. Everything was perfect, from the setting right through to the scrumptious food we had as part of the afternoon tea. Thank you.
