Practice breathing underwater and achieving weightlessness
Younger children receive a badge, sticker, transfer and Bubblemaker toy
All specialist equipment is included
Learning how to scuba dive is a ticket to a lifetime of underwater adventure and this family experience is a perfect introduction to the sport. Get expert instruction on safety and underwater mobility techniques before learning how to breathe underwater and achieve weightlessness while getting used to the equipment. Courses take place in swimming pools under controlled conditions - and while it might seem a long way from diving in a tropical ocean, it's the perfect way for the whole family to get a basic grounding in diving. It's also ideal for anyone considering taking a PADI Open Water Diving Course. At the end of the session younger kids (under 10) get a surprise gift to take home.
Courses run throughout the year, with varied availability at each venue. Please allow several weeks advance booking notice.
For two adults (18 or over) and two children (8 - 18), all in good health and comfortable in water. Sufferers from asthma, diabetes, claustrophobia or any respiratory, heart or other medical conditions must provide written medical approval in advance.
This experience can last for up to two hours, but this may vary depending on the standard of pupils and the venue. You'll spend around half an hour in the pool.
Numbers on the Day
There is a general maximum pupil to tutor ratio of 8:1. As both adults and children are present, groups are separated and have an instructor per group.
Spectator facilities will vary from venue to venue - please ask when booking.
Bring a swimming costume, a towel and a T-shirt each to wear in the water to cushion you from the scuba apparatus, which can sometimes rub against the skin. All other equipment will be provided, including your tanks, masks and scuba gear.
All participants are required to sign a medical declaration and disclaimer before taking part. No previous experience is necessary, beginners are welcome. Children and adults will be taught separately. Those over 10 aren't eligible for Bubblemaker packs.
