Cut your own disc at a professional recording studio
Three hours to record, the best one goes home on CD
Receive top expert advice from the session engineer
Perfect for singers, musicians, solos and duets
Whatever kind of music you listen to, the recording studio is where the magic happens. Whether you have always wanted to record yourself singing, or just to live out a rock star fantasy, this is your chance to get some real studio time. The experience comes complete with a sound engineer/producer, who talks through the recording process to make sure you get the most out of the session time. Singers or musicians alike, simply come along with a song or piece of music well-rehearsed and have the studio to yourself, as the engineer does the rest. Recording studio experiences make fantastic gift ideas for musically-inclined friends and family. Take home your best performance from the session on a CD, to keep forever.
Availability varies between venues. Dates generally fill up quickly, so we recommend you book several weeks in advance, particularly during the busiest summer weekends.
Under 14's or 16's (depending on venue) must be accompanied by an adult. Up to two people are welcome to take part, singing solos or duets or playing instruments.
Lasts for three hours. Come well-rehearsed to ensure that valuable studio time isn't wasted on practise and re-takes. Please don't arrive more than five minutes early as a previous session may still be running.
Numbers on the Day
The studio time is held on a one-to-one basis with an experienced recording engineer.
Either two or four spectators (depending on venue, minimum age eight at Manchester and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult) are welcome. They can bring cameras or video cameras.
If you have problems finding a particular track, each studio has an extensive catalogue of songs and will be happy to help. Most studios will call you to discuss your chosen song with them a week or two in advance of your booking.
