Enjoy the unrivalled thrill of freefalling towards the ground from 7,000 foot with this adrenaline-pumping introductory tandem skydiving experience. There's a short pre-jump briefing from an expert first, then get into a skydiver's jumpsuit before heading up in the plane with the instructor. Learn the basics of steering and landing a parachute before that ultimate thrill of the freefall. Leave the plane safely attached to the instructor and plummet at around 120 mph, descending to 5,000 feet in around 40 seconds - wow!. The instructor opens the parachute and flies you both back down safely. There are around six magical minutes under the parachute, a perfect mix of adrenaline rush and unique, breathtaking views to take in.
Venues operate at least one date a week. The main season is from March to October. Please give several weeks advance booking notice.
Minimum age is 16. Maximum weight limits are 16 and a half stone for men and 15 and a half stone stone for women. All jumpers are required to complete a health and safety form to confirm they are fit and able to jump.
Jumping is always subject to weather conditions and cancellations for this reason are made with safety in mind. It is crucial to call the venue the morning of the jump to check on weather conditions.
Duration is dependent on factors like the weather and the number of participants on the day. As a guide, training and jump take around an hour, but expect to be at the venue for much of the day.
Numbers on the Day
Training might be shared, the jump is one-to-one with a fully qualified skydiver.
Spectators are welcome. A camera and binoculars come in handy.
Dress warmly and comfortably, wear trainers and bring a sweater as it can get cold on the airfield.
Most venues operate jumps on a first-come, first-served basis on the day. £25 to cover BPA membership/insurance must be paid pay on the day.
