Great fun way to spend a couple of hours. Unfortunately the teacher had a very strong accent ( not Japanese) and at times it was hard to understand him. Contrary to the above, we were told nothing about the history of sushi. We made a large amount of different kinds of sushi and were able to bring it all home to enjoy.
We had a lovely day, great fun and very different. We shared a table with a lovely couple and had a laugh with them. We at sushi all day and even took some home and at it the next day. The Antares were very friendly and the whole experience was lovely.
Very interesting and enjoyable. A good learning session that was great fun and informative.
The London Sushi School offers an enjoyable and fun session making various Sushi dishes and what you don't eat you take home! Give it a go!
It was a fun and strangely therapeutic way to spend a Saturday morning. The course was taught well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Also bonus of having lunch from the sushi we had made.
Gabrielle made the afternoon very enjoyable and the sushi making very easy. I believe that this experience is something that would suit but adults and children alike.
Had a great time learning the art of sushi. The St Pauls location was excellent and a very nice environment. Our teacher was brilliant, clearly an expert and very warm and friendly too. I have lots of sushi to eat now! Recommended to all lovers of Sushi and Japanese food.
Really unique experience to make your own sushi, delicious. Good location, very good instuction, and fun experience.
Throughly enjoyed the course and left feeling that I might actually be able to tackle making sushi at home.
My mother bought experience for my sister and I as both foodies. Went to Yo Sushi by St Paul's and enjoyed the event. Small groups at table of 4 by the Sushi chef. Good history lesson on Sushi and really fun going through the various types of sushi on offer. Afterwards they take all the sushi you made and cut up for you to take home with good recipe book. Would recommend for any sushi fans or food lovers.
Great insight into sushi making, lots of hands on time and some to bring home, yum!
A great experience from start to finish, with a really lively class taking place within the restaurant - right in the middle of the action! A nice mixture of learning how to roll sushi by practising a variety of dishes, as well as watching a masterful chef teach you about slicing of the fish and different Japanese words. Taking the mat, recipe book and platefuls of sushi home also made the experience feel like it lasted longer than just the lesson, now it is all about recreating the dishes back at home.
I didn't really know what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed it! You learn a bit about the history of Sushi (without it going on too long) and then you get to make loads of Sushi and it isn't as difficult to make as you think it might be. I bought it for my husband for xmas and I would definitely recommend it!
Very good hands of course, instructor may have talked a little too much at the begining and was expecting bit more fish but generally very fun and nice.
We had a great time and were very well looked after by Gabi, our sushi teacher. She was passionate about her subject and gave us lots of good hints and tips. We made all sorts of different sushi, ate some of it at the end but still came away with enough for a meal to share with friends!! A different experience that has inspired us to organise a sushi party at home in the near future. Would highly recommend for anyone who loves sushi (or food in general).
We did this at the Russell square restaurant due the lord mayors shown. The course leaders where fun, knowledgeable, friendly, sometimes coming round to where we making the sushi and putting us right. We made loads of sushi rolls and hand rolls. We ate a lot and took a lot home too. At the end they explained the whole fish cutting process. A great day that I would happily do again - even wearing the hat!! Thanks guys you made it so much better than just making sushi.
I didn't think I'd enjoy this as much as I did! Great fun learning about and making sushi. Nice atmosphere. Enthusiastic teachers. Best of all you take your sushi home with you!
We had a lovely afternoon learning to make sushi
We had a great day and took home enough sushi for our picnic on the following day. The teacher was very informative and we would recommend the course to anyone.
Redeemed my retirement present voucher at Yo Sushi, St Paul's London, with my wife. There were twelve 'students' in total. We all had a fab time making lots of sushi. Finished off with a superb Yo Sushi meal, accompanied with some nice Saki. Took the late train home laden with 'our' sushi which was gratefully distributed amongst our eagly waiting offspring. A much appreciated and different experience. Highly recommended.
