About the experience
Enjoy an intimate journey aboard a small aircraft for a half hour flight - just long enough to take in some magnificent views from either a two seater training plane (such as a Cessna or a Piper) or a nimble motorglider with a fully qualified instructor. Watch as the pilot flies the craft with ease, explains the controls and demonstrates how it is done. At the pilot's discretion (for confident feeling flyers), take over the controls and feel the true thrill of flying a plane. - Availability Description
Many venues operate seven days a week all year round. Please note that weekends are particularly busy - please book several weeks in advance. During the winter months flights are usually run earlier in the day, during daylight hours.
- Participant Guidelines
Restrictions vary according to venue. As a guide, the min age is 14 - 16, min height 4' - 4'10'', max height 6' - 6'6'' and max weight 14 - 18 stone. Some venues ask for a name and address or photo ID on the day for security reasons.
- Weather
Flying is a weather dependent activity and it's essential to call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time.
- Duration Detail
The experience lasts for about 40 minutes, including a 30 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration.
- Numbers On The Day
The briefing might be shared. The flight is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor.
- Dress Code
Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.
