One of those rare moments in life that really does take your breath away and leaves you with that feeling of how sweet life rarely is.
A completely unforgettable day to such an extent that I did not want the flight to end. To be allowed to actually fly the plane with the instructor in hands off mode and me in control was fantastic. So much so that I am now considering taking flying lessons and trying to obtain my pilot's licence.
Thought at best I would get to 'fly' for maybe 5 mins ... it was only 5 minutes that I didn't have control out of the 30 minute experience. The pilot and the ground crew were brilliant. Loved it, what a fab, fab experience.
That's how I felt when I landed and got my Pilot's Log showing a half hour of training clocked up. I picked Duxford and even got a fly by from a Spitfire thrown in with the free museum entry! Go early, you'll need a whole day to enjoy it.
The Start Of Something Great!
I brought my boyfriend the experience as a present and he was absolutley thrilled to bits. We went on Sunday and it was a gorgoeus sunny day - perfect for flying! He got to take control of the plane and asked the instructor loads of questions, he wants to be a pilot now!! I want him to buy me this experience - it looked like so much fun! I would definitly do this again - the reminder texts and emails were all very helpful - thanks for a great experience!
The flight was a present for my mother's 65th birthday.She was very excited about it and I know that the day really did live up to her expectations. The instructor with her was wonderful. He was very patient and friendly and gave me and my family lots of time and opportunities to take photographs to enable us to remember the day. I know that during the flight he allowed my mother to take the controls and fly the plane - she loved it! My mother was literally on cloud nine and I know it is going to be an experience that she will recount and treasure forever. Thank you for making her smile.
Brilliant Day, An Some Amazing Views!
The service at Solent flying school where I had my experience was excellent, very friendly and supportive as they could tell this was my first time flying! They also offered my girlfirend the chance to come up as a passenger for an extra 20 pounds so we also got some amazing pictures of the Bournemouth coastline on what was possibly the only sunny day in the summer of 2009, (we also managed to fly over our house, how many people can say that!) The 'expert superviser' who came up with us was brilliant, explained everything clearly, put me at ease and helped make it an unforgettable day for all, I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
My boyfriend sent me on a light aircraft flight as a birthday gift. This was something I would never have booked for myself but was one of the best presents I have ever had. The experience of being in the air, actually in control of the plane was wonderful and something I would definitely do again given the chance. If you have ever wanted wings, this is one not to miss!

Despite the weather not being ideal, my instructor tailored the flight to my preferences and made it a very special experience. He was a caring and clear instructor, and made my flight one to remember for along time. I took the controls after expert tuition, but mostly just enjoyed the whole experience and the view. Would recommend this to anyone!

Most Enjoyable And Exhilarating Day
Blessed with wonderful weather, I thoroughly enjoyed the flight. My instructor, Paul, explained everything clearly and was very helpful making the flight a fantastic experience. The arrangements and organisation of the day were very smooth with no hitches and I look forward to another 'Red Letter Day' soon.
Special thanks to Barry, my instructor. He let me taxi to the end of the strip, then he did the take-off, but, when we were up, he let me take the controls and fly it for about 15 minutes. That was easier than I had expected; not really more difficult than driving a car. And, of course, he landed it. I did OK for a 65 year old. But I need another couple of lessons before I'll feel comfortable piloting a 747!
Coudn't have asked for a more helpful instructor - was actually at the controls for most of the flight, which I thought showed great faith and confidence on his part!

A Day Never To Be Forgotten
This experience was given to me by my son as a 'What do you buy your dad on his 60th birthday?' Having done long haul to Australia and numerous Ryanair flights, this was going to be different. When I got to the airfield, the staff were great. The pilot/instructor Chris filled me with confidence - 'Yes, you will be flying it'! A quick explanation of the controls and we were airborne. Literally, within minutes, I was at the controls and feeling comfortable in the knowledge that Chris could take over if he needed to. We climbed, we banked, we turned and yes my stomach turned but not with fear but exhilaration. It was not until the approach back to the airfield that I had to hand the controls back. This most enjoyable experience was certainly one to remember. Many thanks to you all.
A Totally Different Perspective On The World!
I am still on cloud nine!!! To be able to take the controls and fly over my home was amazing. I can not recommend this experience highly enough.
So glad I did not change this for a safer option - I was totally nervous but so glad I did this - it was great being up in the clouds and I think I am still up in the clouds 4 days later.
Excellent views; I chose to spend my 30 minute flight at Wickenby Airfield in Lincolnshire. Plenty of varied scenery. Instructor very friendly and knowledgeable obviously about the aircraft but also the local area. As we were coming into land we could see mist and rain clouds coming towards us. I would recommend this experience to anyone who likes flying or who wants to have a go either for fun or towards their pilot's licence.

This was a brilliant experience. I didn't anticipate being given the controls on this flight for as long as I did and the experience was much more because of that. The pilot was great at explaining everything and making it really great fun. If you are lucky enough to get a Red Letter Day, I would recommend this to you all as it was great. The Memories Will Stay With Me Forever
I arrived at the airfield and was introduced to the pilot and the aircraft I would have my journey in. Once we had taken off above Wickenby, we flew towards and over Lincoln city where we saw some breathtaking views of the cathedral, castle and city centre. I was able to take control of the aircraft which improved my experience and it was overwhelming. Overall, this experience was incredible, with memories that will stay with me forever and one which I would highly recommend.
My First Experience Of Flying A Light Aircraft

I had mentioned to my friends my love of white-knuckle rides. So, they bought me this gift with the quote 'we thought we would bring Alton Towers to you!'. All my friends came with their kids to be part of the experience. It was a nice day and the instructor was pleasant and reassuring. After a short instruction we were up and I was then in control. You have no idea until you're doing it what an exhilarating experience it is to actually fly, and not sit as part of a large commercial flight. The plane is small and responsive and you feel part of sky, letting the air carry you over some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. It has given me a real taste for more lessons. A truly 'Heavenly' experience which I'm indebted to my best friends for. Thanks guys. Biggles!
Very Unique And Exciting Experience
Having reached the age of 70, and often flown in commercial aircraft as a passenger, I found the 30 minute Light Aircraft Flight a very unique and exciting experience. Furthermore gaining a little insight into what goes on at 'the front end' of an aircraft. Would I like to do it again? Most definitely.
Aircraft Flight: Still In The Clouds!
The experience was amazing and one I'll carry with me. The pilot instructor was passionate about flying, extremely knowledgeable about the aircraft and very calm considering this first time pilot was to take charge in the air! I would strongly recommend this experience for the thrills, the absolute feeling of control and the views.
I Now Have The Flying Bug
I really did enjoy my flight, that was kindly bought for me by my work colleagues, maybe they thought I might not return from it! Everything went smoothly from start to finish. The tuition I received from the pilot was excellent. Unfortunately now I have got the flying bug and I want to get my pilot's licence - a costly exercise!

Took My Son With Me As I Flew The Plane!
The company were very professional and made my day very memorable. I was able to pay a bit more and take my 12 year old son up in the aircraft. This really added to my experience. How many lads can say they have been up in a plane their dad has flown? Fantastic!
I arrived at 11.45 a.m. and by 12.20 I took over the controls and flew myself for 15 min doing a figure of eight around Silverstone race track! I think I want to be a pilot now (I am only 13 years old)!

Was exceptionally pleased with the whole process, all very easy and smooth.
Good service and especially communication to confirm arrangements. I already had 6 hours solo time logged on a microlight, so the instructor turned it into a mini lesson and trusted me with most of the flying, including take offs and landings. Most enjoyable.
