Overview
Experience life at the zoo with this keeper for the day experience for two people at Dartmoor Zoo. You’ll have the unique opportunity to work alongside the expert team of keepers, learning first hand what it takes to keep a range of animals happy and healthy. Start off by feeding and cleaning the goats before getting friendly with some meerkats, meeting a family of otters, and getting up close to some bugs and reptiles. Along the way, you’ll learn all about the different animals’ diets, nutrition, husbandry, training and enrichment for a real behind the scenes look. Once your experience is complete, be sure to explore the rest of the zoo, with a slice of cake and hot drink included.

- Availability Description
Available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8am, year round, excluding Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. It is recommended that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment as places are limited. Dates are available up to six months in advance. All dates are subject to availability. - Participant Guidelines
Minimum age: 16 years. Please note, this experience is hands-on with a bit of hard work required. This experience is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, has a high blood pressure or is of a nervous disposition. - Duration
Please allow five hours for the whole experience. - Dress Code
The enclosure grounds may be uneven or muddy depending on the weather. Sturdy and supportive footwear is recommended, as well as clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. - Other Info
All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences. Most of the zoo is accessible to wheelchairs and buggies, but some paths may be challenging, with hilly and rugged areas. The team is available to help when needed.
