Fun, But Do It With A Friend.

There's not much to this activity. You make some decorations from moulds and then put icing on some cupcakes. The best hot chocolate in the world was provided which greatly improved the experience, but I got this as a gift and was one of the only solo participants. This is an activity that isn't very social, so it lends itself better to couples/pairs.
Absolutely Great Value Experience

I bought this experience for my daughter's 21st and we had an exceptional afternoon! Twelve gorgeous cupcakes and an apron to take home and a masterclass in sugar craft from the delightful Eric Lanlard. Put this together with a Baileys hot chocolate and it was a great experience. Only downside was that our boxes did not have the cardboard holes inside set up correctly and all our cupcakes fell over and were rather spoiled. Didn't detract from a great afternoon - we ate the cupcakes anyway!
Good Messy Fun

This session was very good fun - Eric evidently knew what he was doing, but managed to focus on the fun of creating decorations using silicone moulds, petal paste, glitter and food colouring. Very enjoyable, relaxed but with plenty of tips and advice thrown in. Be prepared to get messy, and have a plan for sharing the cupcakes, unless you fancy eating 12!
An Enjoyable Experience

Bakers' Fun Perfecting The Finishing Touches

I arrived early as I was unsure of the location, but sat in comfortable, chic surroundings having a light lunch and coffee before the main event. Eric gave us a mini talk on the history of cupcakes and then showed us how to make the sugar paste decorations. We had great fun making high heel, giraffes, elephants, skulls and many more delights. The glitter really blinged up the decorations. Then, great vats of cream cheese icing were brought out and we had a mini masterclass on the perfect icing. I was very proud of my creations, and took photos of them before heading home. Eric was a great teacher and was open to any questions.
A Fantastic Afternoon

A great afternoon. The class went on for a lot longer than the website stated (around 2 and a half hours). The techniques that we were shown were quite simple but effective and the day was suitable for all skill levels. Loved all the glitter and paints and you get a lovely box of cupcakes to take home, plus a cake boy apron which is a lovely reminder of the day.

We had a very relaxing creative afternoon making lots of glittery mess and some really impressive cakes! The skill required was pretty basic, I would have liked something a bit more challenging but the end result was still very good!

I would highly recommend this experience, hands on , great tips from the Cakeboy himself and free flowing coffee, cake, equipment and knowledge. I was given this for a special birthday present and had no special skills in cake decorating but this did not hold me back. The small group had. Some real experts and amatures....all producing wonderful works of art in the form of cupcakes. I loved using the glitter paint and moulds of everything from hearts to animals to underwear. Great time and I completely forgot the stress of real life for the afternoon. Thank you
Very Enjoyable

It was great meeting Eric and being shown how to produce professional looking cupcake decorations. I will definitely use the skills I learnt again. One negative though (which is not really a negative) is that drinks are only offered more towards the end of the class. Other than that, it was a great afternoon, where we ended up spending 2.5 hrs docorating cakes.
Excellent Experience!

We had an excellent time at Eric Lanlard's Cake Boy cupcake course. We were shown how to make decorations for the top of our cupcakes using silicone moulds and petal paste plus how to paint and decorate them with edible food colouring and edible glitter! Eric then showed us three methods to pipe the frosting onto the cakes and topped with the decorations made at the start. It would be a great experience for beginner bakers and experienced alike and I would recommend to anyone who is interested in baking and cupcakes!
Excellent Experience

I recieved this gift experience as a birthday gift and went with a friend. We learnt a new skill and met some lovely people. It was a fun and relaxed afternoon and would highly recommend this to anyone you do not need to have a specific skill in cake making.
Cup Cake Extravaganza

I would 100% recommend the cup cake decorating experience. It was brilliant! We were taught how to decorate the cakes by the very patient and fun Eric. What a great teacher! I especially loved piping the butter cream icing, he made it look simple, and it was. My work mates were over the moon whenr I took them the cakes the next day, they said they had never tasted better ones. I must admit, they looked really professional. I think the edible glitter helped. Only down side was that we wern't offered and tea of coffee for the whole experience as promised. Could have done with a drink as the class lasted for 2.5 hours and we needed that refreshment as we were working, not when we were about to leave. Great day all round, Eric is a legend and the Cake Boy shop is a professional and fun environment.
Had A Wonderful Time.

I had an amazing time during my afternoon of cupcake decorating with Eric Lanlard. The decorating was really useful and I shall be using these skills to decorate future cupcakes I make. I was made to feel welcome by everyone at cakeboy and have already started thinking about booking another cake making course there.
