A flex wing microlight flight is an ideal way of experiencing the sensation of open cockpit flying. Wondered what it might be like? Then this is the way to find out, a 30 minute once-in-a-lifetime flight over the Highlands of Scotland! Begin with a pre-flight safety briefing from a qualified instructor, covering all the necessary skills needed to pilot a flex wing microlight. Then, once ready, take to the skies and soar like an eagle above the breathtaking Scottish landscape, soaking in dramatic views of the rolling countryside. Whether navigating through the clouds, under the wing of a professional instructor or simply relaxing and taking in the views, this is the perfect experience for budding pilots and the more experienced alike!
Seven days a week throughout the year, but please note the centre is normally closed during the Christmas period.
Maximum weight is 15 stone, maximum height is 6ft. Minimum age is 16 and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Microlighting is extremely weather dependent. Fliers must call the venue before setting out to confirm the experience is able to go ahead as booked.
Expect to be at the venue for up to one hour including a briefing and 30 minutes of microlight flying time.
Numbers on the Day
Briefings may be shared, but all flights are held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified microlight instructor.
Spectators are welcome to watch you take off and land, dont let them forget to bring a camera or pair of binoculars. They can relax in the cafe and viewing area on the airfield.
Microlights have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. We recommend long trousers, closed in shoes, socks and long sleeve jumpers. Bring gloves in winter and sunglasses are recommended all year round.
Your flying time can count towards a microlight private pilot's licence, for which you need 15 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying to qualify. Please be aware that this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the faint hearted.
