Overview

Get a taste for an alternative way of flying with an adrenaline-pumping microlight flight. After receiving a safety briefing from a qualified instructor, hop into a dual-controlled microlight in preparation for take-off. Once at altitude, experience the true aerial sensation of this incredibly zippy, lightweight craft whilst admiring sensational bird's-eye views from the ground below. During the session, take charge of the craft to experience the amazing rush of flying first-hand. Should the experience bring out the flying bug, this flight can count towards a microlight Private Pilot's Licence.

In a Nutshell
  • A thrilling flight in a microlight
  • Professional guidance from an expert pilot
  • Take over controls during the flight (at the pilot's discretion)
  • Can contribute towards flying time for a microlight Private Pilot's Licence
Key Info
  • Availability Description
Seven days a week throughout the year, but please note the centre is normally closed during the Christmas period.
  • Participant Guidelines
Maximum weight is 16 stone and minimum age is 16. Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who'll be required to sign a disclaimer.
  • Weather
Microlighting is a weather dependent activity and it is crucial that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If your flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time.
  • Duration
The flight lasts 30 minutes, but please allow up to an hour at the venue.
  • Numbers on the Day
Your briefing might be shared, but your flight will be held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor.
  • Dress Code
These microlights have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. We recommend long trousers, closed in shoes, socks and long sleeve jumpers. Bring gloves in winter and sunglasses are recommended all year round.
  • Other Info
All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences. Your flying time can count towards a microlight private pilot's licence, for which you need 15 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying to qualify. Please be aware that this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the faint hearted.

Awesome experience!
The microlight club were very welcoming, professional and informative. While we were flying the pilot explained how the microlight was operated. The views were stunning - just like looking at Google Maps on satellite view but in real-time! I may take up flying myself as this experience has piqued my interest.
