Tour H. Forman and Son's famous East London smokehouse set up in 1905 and still in the family today, it was voted the Best Unusual or Unique Venue at the London Venue Awards in 2015. Start the tour by learning the processes that go in to producing the finest smoked Scottish salmon. Next, take a seat in the Forman's on-site restaurant, take in amazing views of the Olympic Stadium and enjoy a smoked salmon platter to share. Listen to a fascinating talk on the history of the smokehouse, as well as receiving a carving demonstration from Guinness World Record-holder Darren Matson and also tour the gallery. Feel free to purchase salmon goodies before leaving.

  • Availability Description

    The tour runs at least six times a year, usually once every two months on either a Friday or Saturday.

  • Participant Guidelines

    Minimum age 16. Wheelchair users can be accommodated, please specify requirements at point of booking. All participants must sign a disclaimer form on the day.

  • Duration Detail

    The tour starts at 11am and finishes at 2pm and lasts for around three hours.

    The tour can accommodate up to 50 people at one time.

  • Dress Code

    The smokehouse is cold so warm clothes with long sleeves are recommended, along with closed toe shoes and no high heels (as there are steps down to the smokehouse). Compulsory safety wear is provided on arrival.
