Give in to tea and cake cravings at one of a range of hand-picked venues, including charming hotel restaurants and lounges. What's included will vary according to the location chosen - for example be served a traditional English cream tea, a tea with finger sandwiches and homemade cakes, fancy pastries and champagne, or cakes and cocktails, and some venues offer the experience for more than two people. Whichever it is, find the perfect spot to relax on any occasion from Mother's Day to 40th birthday celebrations, and indulge and while away an afternoon. Tuck in!
Bookings are offered seven days a week at most venues (bear in mind that hotel venues can be much busier during summer months).
Everyone is welcome, but at least one guest must be an adult (18 or over).
Tea is served in the afternoon, usually between 11am and 6pm.
The majority of venues offer this experience for two people, although there are options included within our range for three and for four.
Most hotels request smart casual dress.
What a wonderful afternoon my mum and I had. The food was sensational, the views beautiful, the staff attentive and informative. We couldn't have wished for more!
Great service beautifully serviced just the right amount of attention
The service was excellent and professional - so rare these days. Wide choice of teas and the scones were especially good. I prefer my cucumber without the skin but that's my preference. Check before you go on the chocolate fondue great idea but it was not strawberries and marshmallow but pineapple (yuck) and doughnuts.
lovely venue, excellent service, super food.
would definitely return.
I shared this experience with my mum, we choose to go to the crown plaza in marlow. we both had a lovely experience, the presentation of the afternoon tea was very very sweet, it was like a display cabinet, plenty of variety too. The conservatory area we sat in was also lovely, my only little thing was a large party sitting just down from us, although they weren't awfully loud they kept opening the outside doors that was letting all the cold air in. Other than that, it was an all round lovely experience.
We all really enjoyed our afternoon tea at the York House Hotel Eastbourne, delicious sandwiches, cakes and a decent cup of tea.
My husband and I have done this a few times over the years, always an excellent experience. This time the staff thoughtfully set us up in comfy chairs at a table by the fire. Everything was ready for us as we arrived, served promptly and courteously, no rush to clear things up. We were able to sit and relax to our heart's content before leaving. Thank you.
A fantastic afternoon spent at Mosborough Hall with my daughter. Polite & attentive staff, a delicious afternoon tea & a cheeky glass of bubbles.
Had a lovely afternoon. My family joined us. Didnt get the Whittards Tea Box gift though really disappointed.
We had informed of our dietary requirements two days prior to going, we also had a forty minute journey to get to the venue / the weather was not good also but / nice homely atmosphere because of the coal burning fire
We are vegetarian , but don't eat fish egg or meat
They had' lost' the written instruction / and therefore staff & chef had not made any preparation
Therefore the eggfree cakes we were promised , were not available / we had to make do with what we were given / fortunately , we are not allergic but it's still a lifestyle choice we try to maintain
Having said that they made us very welcome
If you do have a dietary requirement / allergy make sure that this information is conveyed to the appropriate person
Bagden hall Huddersfield was just so perfect for afternoon tea. Roaring fires and beautiful Christmas decorations made for just the perfect afternoon. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food not only presented beautifully but tasted amazing too x we had a feed etc festive afternoon . Thank you
The food was Devine & plentiful in a wonderful setting. Staff were outstanding & super accommodating. Can't wait for my next visit
The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. It is clean and comfortable. A real old English tea room. Service was friendly and good and the food was fabulous, fresh and tasty. Couldn't have wished for anything more!
Very warm welcome, nothing was to much trouble, beautiful hotel, within walking distance of Lyndhurst, would recommend and go back.
We really enjoyed our afternoon tea at Greenwoods. We were placed in the bar area which had armchairs and sofas and low tables covered in crisp white linen. It was warm and cozy and very prettily decorated for Christmas. The sandwiches and cakes were scrumptious, particularly the scones. We were not, unfortunately, offered a choice of any speciality teas and had also expected loose tea, not tea bags. However, this did not detract from the occasion and it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I would have no hesitation in recommending Greenwoods for your afternoon tea experience.
My wife and I did not know what to expect when we took advantage of our gift to take afternoon tea at the Winnock Hotel. Due to ill health we had to wait until December before our wee treat. We were not disappointed. On arrival we were seated beside a welcoming log fire in a homely and comfortable area in the bar area. Although quiet for the time of the year the barman made us feel very welcome as he took our order for sandwiches and tea. What arrived was a wee feast on the eyes and on the palette. Sandwiches, savoury nibbles and scones with cream and jam. Carrot cake, millionaire shortcake with strawberries and raspberries on the side to follow. All washed down with a pot of tea and what we could not eat we took with us to eat later. I would highly recommend this as a wee gift to anyone and would not hesitate to return for another wee slice of comfort and joy.
My daughter gave us this as a present for last christmas and we had an enjoyable time, sea views from the window and lovely food.
We had our red letter afternoon tea at the Best Western Grosvener Hotel in Stratford on Avon. The staff were pleasant and helpful. However the actual tea was a little disappointing. Some of the small helping of sandwiches had been made some time ago as the bread was hard. We could have done with additional hot water for our tea as it became very strong when left. The cakes and chocolate fondue were lovely. When we left we asked about the complimentary Whittards tea box as advertised. The staff didn't know what I was talking about so I raised this with the duty manager who was less than helpful. Suffice to say we didn't get our gift. Overall 6 out of 10.
Beautiful, comfortable venue. Will probably return again. Receptionist very helpful when I made the confirmation booking.
