Underwhelming spa day
I was left unimpressed by this spa day for a few reasons.
Firstly, the hotel managed to miss my online booking. When I hadn't heard from them 3-5 days beforehand to book in my treatments I called them the day before to check. After a while they found my details on the system but I was told that they had missed my booking off and were now fully booked for the next day so I would have to come 2 days later instead (no apology). I had to rearrange days off to make this work. When I arrived on the day it turned out they had then moved my treatment and tea times without letting me know, which disrupted my day. Again, no apologies.
The setup is really more of a leisure centre than a spa, and the changing and swimming facilities felt very dated with no indoor relaxation area. There is, however, a very well equipped gym. The outdoor jacuzzi was not working and the indoor one was not very warm and switches off after 10 minutes. The afternoon tea and treatment were adequate.
Overall, not a particularly relaxing or indulgent experience and I ended up leaving early afternoon.
