A different perspective
Bath is only 20 minute drive from where we live, but looking as it as a date night out, changed the whole perspective for us both. Time out for pleasure, an epicurean evening around Bath. For our bronze Wedding anniversaire staying at the Hilton overnight was perfect. Able to just "let go" of having to drive home at the end of the evening. A beautiful open air meal in Shires Yard for the evening, an amble around Bath, a romantic evening with good food and wine excellent evening.
The Hilton is a good hotel (a bit of a low pressure on the water), but the staff were wonderful...free cookies....and milk for a coffee afterwards. The second day before we drove home was a remarkable meal at the best French restaurant in Bath the Comptoir+Cuisine

Great hotel, voucher availability is the worst
Stay was great. Hotel was very nice but almost impossible to find dates to book through vouchers. Had to ask agents multiple times to help me find hotel with availability near me. The search function for hotels once you buy vouchers or transfer them is almost unusable for users and only was to find out if hotels have availability is to keep switching vouchers and searching again and again. Would not recommend red letter days for hotels but maybe for other experience days gifts
