Designed as a springboard for budding sea kayakers, this two-day course for one combines high-quality coaching with the drama of Devon’s coastline. You’ll cover launching and landing, efficient paddling, rescue procedures, navigation, tidal planning and what equipment to carry, all guided by a highly qualified instructor. Complete the course with an internationally recognised Paddle UK certificate and a renewed sense of confidence, ready to embrace your next adventure on the open water.

Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website. A waiver must be completed before taking part. Late arrivals may not be accommodated; instructors wait up to 25 minutes from the session start time. Cancellations should be made at least four weeks in advance. Refunds are not available for missed trips due to late arrival, illness, accident, wet weather or other causes outside Sea Kayak Devon's control. Sea Kayak Devon may cancel for adverse weather or safety reasons; an alternative course or full refund will be offered. Please bring a packed lunch, snacks and drinks, swimwear and a towel, extra layers, suncream and a hat for hot sunny days, and dry shoes for after the trip. Wear shorts, a T-shirt and a lightweight jumper on hot sunny days; for cooler days, wear a warm jumper and trousers, but not jeans, plus shoes, sandals or beach shoes that can get wet. Accessible public toilets are available at the base. Sea Kayak Devon regularly takes people of different abilities paddling; please discuss access needs with the venue in advance. The venue is not pet-friendly.
