Afternoon Tea in Lake District

Friendly staff. The Afternoon tea was a present from our granddaughter. The food was wonderful and plentiful. We had takeaway boxes too! Must mention the sausage rolls which were the best ever! Thank you

The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and professional. I was quite full after a lovely starter of samosas. The chicken tikka massala was incredibly tasty and I could not finish the delicious apple crumble. Looking forward to my next visit. A huge thank you to Vaasu.

My voucher had expired but reinstated when I phoned . Broadoaks Afternoon Tea disappointing though. Would go elsewhere next time

All the staff were very warm and welcoming and provided a beautiful Afternoon tea with views over Lake Windermere. We were very lucky to get such stunning weather. Thankyou all at Merewood Country House Hotel for making my birthday celebration extra special

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. The food was imaginative, for example the mini fish and chips, which were delicious. It was all very tasty and beautifully presented on the unusual wooden stand. I particularly loved having 5 different cakes/desserts, which were all gorgeous! One small point, the scones were very good, but it would have been nice to have a choice of plain or fruit scones. The setting was very comfortable and attractive. Briery Wood is definitely recommended, though the Red Letter Days booking system was awful - which was no fault at all of Briery Wood.

Different from the traditional afternoon tea but still included all the elements, savoury, scones and cake. The staff were efficient and friendly and the castle is full of history but very comfortable. Overall a wonderful experience.
