Portwrinkle Beach Foraging
I enjoyed the experience. It was unfortunate that the lead person had Covid and substitutes had to be found who were probably less experienced with the venue such that everything was rather ad hoc. Nevertheless the leaders were very knowledgeable and approachable. There were about 16 people on the course which I felt was far too many as all individual queries and needs could not be fully addressed. We were also waiting around for far too long on the beach for them to prepare and cook lunch for everyone. I thought we would be focusing on cooking using the materials we had foraged, not those which were brought along. The course could therefore have been more condensed.

Foraging fun!
Had an amazing time learning foraging with Freya, she was very informative about plants and nature. We had a lovely meal later in the day cooking with wild food we sourced. Would definitely look to doing this course again. Very recommended for anyone who enjoys learning about our countryside and gaining a new skill.

Foraging
The guide was very knowledgeable about her subject, but the day felt more like a plant ID course/guided walk rather than foraging. I already had knowledge of plant ID, but we kept stopping every 5-10 metres for the guide to describe another plant/tree. It was frustrating as I was keen to explore and forage. In addition to this, the site had a lot of dog mess, a lot of which was situated in the same spot that the guide was describing a plant that we could 'eat!' This was very off-putting, but she didn't seem to notice. I felt that the guide didn't make the day very interactive for the participants, or make any attempt at making the experience learner-led, we were also very disappointed that there was no cooking allowed, instead we were presented with a salad and pasta, where many of the ingredients were shop bought! Very disappointing experience.
