Not as advertised
Our bedroom at this hotel was far from deluxe. The Grand Royale markets itself with air conditioning. Our bedroom only had warm air and was 30c +. The room was small and cramped with a window view over a yard and apartment block.

Terrible
Do not use red letter data, where do I start. You purchase a £150 voucher, you they have to find an area you you’d like to stay in, pay extra on top of the £150 you’ve already sieve, to narrow your search down, to get a choice of 4 hotels, to they book it for £175 for 1 night, to find it on a site for the same room, same night nothing different for £121, so costing us an extra £74 for the night. To then as them to prove match, as promised on the site. To be totally ignored. Worst experience ever, totally unacceptable and not worth the money. Save the hassle and just book the experience of night away direct as a gift.

Given a lower standard room
We paid for a deluxe room. Arrived at the hotel soon after check in but needed to get ready quickly for heading to the theatre. The room was tiny and when we came back we could barely fit in the bed. Looking at the hotel website I think they gave us a small double as the deluxe room was meant to have a king sized bed bed and this certainly did not. Disappointed.

A celebration
The hotel part of the website is awful - no filtering for rating or locations around London - and each time you look at a hotel it reverts back to the beginning of the list of 860 odd hotels. Really frustrating. We selected a hotel by Paddington station, to allow for easy travel on the underground. The attic room had a sloping wall which made moving around a little awkward. The room itself was clean but rather hot. Outside of the hotel's control was the roadworks being carried out, starting at 8am.
The list of theatres is rather limited, only 12 on view. We selected Phantom of the Opera, a brilliant show, although the seats did have a bit of a restricted view.

“Deluxe”?
We were gifted a theatre trip and a nights stay in London. When looking through the hotels we couldn’t find much unless you wanted to pay extra. We chose a hotel in Warwick Avenue as this was as close as you could get to the centre. The hotel was in a bad state… the rooms were dirty and pretty badly look after. The tiles were broken in the bathroom, holes in the doors and just in a real bad state. The hotel is called The Colonnade. Stay clear of this place.
