Ceramics Pottery Workshop with Rachel Byass for One

Head to Pontefract in West Yorkshire to enjoy an exciting pottery workshop for one at Fired Art Designs. A quaint pottery studio that was opened by Rachel Byass in 1986, it offers professional tuition and a fun-filled day out. Enjoy a two-hour workshop, which consists of a demonstration and the chance to create a pot on a wheel and take it home. After the pot has been created, choose from 18 underglazes in which to paint it with and lots of decorating sponges, brushes to get the most from your experience. The pot will then be dipped in the glaze before it is fired. It will then be re-fired at the high temperature of 1,300 degrees, making it oven, microwave and frost proof. Stoneware is the crème de la crème of clay and the colours are stunning. The pot is durable and long-lasting. Master the art of throwing a pot, choosing from options like a plant pot, vase or dog bowl. Make a magnificent creation to display proudly at home. Savour tea or coffee served throughout the day
