Wonderful experience

Enjoyable tea in calm surroundings - more veggie options would would help
Turned up early but was readily accommodated. The choice of teas amazing. Servers were polite and friendly. Champagne delicious as were the scones and cakes. Only improvement suggested is choice of vegetarian sandwiches on offer. The white bread cheese and tomato, cucumber and egg mayo were fresh but would have been nice to have some seedy or brown bread option and some more adventurous fillings - brie and grape, hummus and carrot, for example. Having said that, a very pleasant hour.

Disappointing
Service was good initially, although as we were the only people in the restaurant, that was to be expected. Tea was ok , but unimaginative sandwiches. We decided to wait a little while for our champagne, but when we were ready to order there was some sort of staff training at the other end of the restaurant, and consequently we were totally ignored for twenty five minutes. I ended up going to the bar to try and get the attention of a waiter. That didn't work either (he was busy talking). Finally, a waiter walked past and I got him to take our champagne order. Not a big issue maybe, but it was a birthday treat, and it is a 4 star hotel, so I expected better service. I wish I had booked elsewhere.
