Macdonald Hotel Perfect Treat Spa Day for Two with Afternoon Tea and 55 Minute Treatment - Weekend

The place itself was nice. A little worn but totally acceptable and pleasant. I upgraded my voucher from a Bannatyne to this, as a Bannatyne is essentially an upgraded leisure centre. I certainly wouldn’t describe them as a spa so despite having to pay more, this upgrade was worth it. The massage was amazing. Really loved it. The only downside was that this was meant to be a 55 minute massage and it turned out to be more like a 48-49 minute massage as they collected us late from the relaxation room. The afternoon tea was very nice and very filling. I would just suggest that they get a proper music channel because we ended up listening to Amazon adverts. Doesn’t really live up to the Manor House vibes. Overall I was happy with the experience, I would say the only thing that frustrates me is when they call it a 55 minute massage and they cut you short. They wouldn’t dare go a minute over but you can be collected late. Afternoon tea was lovely but like I said, the ‘music’ choice was interesting, and finally, the place itself was lovely but the ceiling could certainly do with a lick of paint.

The spa treatment is good if you take massage. Just having a facial is not worth it. The tie for the robe needs to be attached to it, else it keeps falling off and gets lost. The breakfast needs a rethink since having cold sandwiches after a swim is not worth it. You may rather pay and have lunch that will be warm. The place needs maintenance since infrared cubicle does not work and the steam room is not always steaming. Most itenary are pricey. We chose to stay at a different location (Forrester) and had a better day there!

Staff were amazing

Very little to do prior to treatments no jacuzzi and very few chairs or loungers so no where to relax.the chillout room was also dissapointing no music and just a few beds to lie on. My daughters treatment was 15 minutes late and then it was obvious that the staff member was texting on her phone and kept stopping.sadly we will not be going again i originally booked the experience and had not heard anything when I rang I was told that I had booked it correctly but foe some reason the booking had not gone through so if I had not have contacted them I would have travelled all that way to find there was no booking
