Afternoon Tea with a Glass of Champagne for Two at The Harrods Tea Rooms

It was as expected - top quality in every respect from the warm welcome to the extra special touch at the end when we were presented with a special "congratulations" cake as we were celebrating our retirements.

The elegance, the service, the ambiance, the food, the tea choices - all superb.

We had an amazing experience, the food was gorgeous and the staff were excellent, could not ask for a better afternoon.

Received as a gift and was really looking forward to the experience - the Harrods team called beforehand to check my dietary requirements and for more details about the birthday celebration (I’m a vegetarian, which I also noted down when booking). Despite this, they still brought out products that weren’t vegetarian, and asked as they were bringing them out whether I could eat them (as if they knew I couldn’t, which I’d told them at booking, on the phone a week prior and on arrival!) This was rectified promptly but the service was generally very poor - no one was on hand to refill water/ check everything was ok etc, and we had to get up and walk around to find a waiter on hand to help. They were also supposed to bring out a birthday surprise (which they’d called about and asked my name for the previous week), but this never happened. Would definitely not recommend, there as so many nicer afternoon teas out there at a much lower cost and far better service! I hope they sort it out…
