Anniversary afternoon tea
Staff friendly and attentive. Plenty of food, not sure about coronation chicken as an option sandwich filler, egg and cress more in keeping with afternoon tea. Thank you

Birthday treat
I took an elderly friend, I’ve had better afternoon teas. Wasn’t asked if we had any allergies. Was brown or white bread required. It did have half & half. No Prosecco offered. Just tea & coffee. No water. Also too far away from where we lived. Didn’t take any photos & was only there an hour. Seated in reception lounge & not an exciting outlook.

Disappointing
Positive: friendly staff who checked on us several times.
However, as there was a wedding that afternoon, we were put into a side room that had no atmosphere and florescent lighting, instead of the lounge because it would be' quieter 'for us. I would have preferred to have been given a choice to either book a different day/time or to sit in the lounge.
The tea itself was ok, but overall disappointing.

Poor quality food
Afternoon tea for 2 was a gift from work colleagues as a leaving gift. Unfortunately the photos on the website did not represent what we received, we were placed at a table in the bar, my husband was on a chair too high for the table, no table cloth on the table and when the waiter brought out the afternoon tea my heart sunk, the sandwiches that had been made were really cold, the cakes were out of a packet and the scones looked more like rock cakes!! Needless to say we got up and left after my husband tried one sandwich and put it back as it was tasteless.
The staff were very friendly and Marie is a great asset to the hotel, it’s such a shame that the manager thinks it’s acceptable to serve second rate food from a corner shop. I feel sorry for my colleagues who shelled out their hard earned money I’d of preferred it that they gave it to charity.
