About the experience

This scenic River Thames cruise provides a unique and stunning perspective of Oxford and the surrounding areas. After boarding a river cruiser, head downstream passing the university regatta course, ancient Folly Bridge, Christ Church college and Meadows, as well as the university rowing houses. This particular stretch of the river which is locally known as the Isis, is both vibrant and busy – dotted with punts, pleasure boats and rowing eights. Whilst on board, both tuck into a delicious picnic and a soft drink (ginger beer or elderflower presse). Alcoholic drinks can be purchased at the departure point to take aboard. This experience is a perfect way to relax and take in some seriously beautiful sights.

Amazing relaxing trip

We had a wonderful time cruising down the Thames, the boat was powered by electric and very quiet. There were 10 people on board so plenty of room, and the picnic was lovely.

Wonderful experience and a great gift

We had a fabulous afternoon on the picnic river cruise. Our skipper was very informative and entertaining and created a relaxing but fun atmosphere for the three hours we were on the boat. Lunch was delicious and of a very high quality. I would thoroughly recommend this as a gift or as a treat for a special occasion.

Best Christmas Present!

After being booked on a wrong cruise and many emails trying to sort it. We eventually took our River boat Picnic Cruise today and it was well worth waiting for. Lovely peaceful boat trip with a 20 minute stop at a River Pub. Excellent hamper with warm and cold food. Refreshing drink supplied with the hamper. So pleased with everything.

A bit boring

3 hours of mostly cruising past trees. Stopped halfway through the cruise, to have a wander and pay a visit to the pub where we stopped, but not really anything else to do. Food was good on the whole but not much of it, considering it was a lunchtime picnic. The skipper was lovely and knowledgeable of the area etc.Drinks in The Folly restaurant, where we were told to wait for the cruise to start, were very expensive.
