About the experience
Begin trout fly fishing with expert instruction at a fully equipped school. The foundation course will cover tackle set-up, fly lines, knots and tippets, plus key casting techniques including overhead, roll and shooting the line. Put the theory into practice on a lake stocked with brown, rainbow and rare blue trout, with guidance on fly choice and tactics as skills develop.

Available on selected dates during April–October. Weekends are particularly popular. All dates are subject to availability.
- Participant Guidelines
Minimum age: 18 years. Bring sunglasses, a camera and a plastic bag or cool box for the fish.
- Duration Detail
Each day runs eight hours, from 9.30am–5.30pm, with a break for lunch.
- Numbers On The Day
This voucher is valid for one person. One spectator is welcome.
- Dress Code
This course will be outside all day; dress according to the weather. Please bring waterproofs, a jacket and a hat.
- Other Info
Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website. All equipment is provided. Light refreshments are included. Group sizes are kept small, with up to four pupils. The fishing will not be affected by the weather. A fully equipped Fishing Lodge is available on site. A wide choice of local accommodation is available in Stockbridge, just four miles away. Refreshments are included for one spectator in the kitchen of the fishing cabin which overlooks the lake and includes indoor and outdoor seating areas.
