Spa Day For Two with 55 Minute Treatment and Afternoon tea at Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel

We arrived at the spa at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM treatment. Although we were greeted by a polite receptionist and shown to the relaxation room, the robes and towels provided were incredibly small and uncomfortable. Our treatments, which were supposed to last 55 minutes, started late at 10:10 AM and both ended in under 40 minutes. During my massage, the therapist was not only unprofessional but also appeared irritated by my presence, which made the experience stressful rather than relaxing. Her lack of skill left me with back pain, something I've never experienced after previous massages. My wife's experience was equally disappointing—at one point, her therapist was texting on her phone during the treatment, which is completely unacceptable. Neither of us received the full duration or quality of the treatments we paid for. After the treatments, we went to the relaxation room. However, I was directed to make coffee in an awkward location where I had to stand over someone receiving a nail treatment, which felt uncomfortable and far from what one would expect in a luxury setting. The coffee machine itself was outdated, and there was no proper milk option, further diminishing the experience. When we attempted to use the pool and other spa facilities, we encountered a dirty swimming pool, loud music from an aqua aerobics class, and dirty sauna and steam room with no available loungers. The entire area felt neglected and far from the relaxing environment one would expect. We couldn’t even access the pool due to the overcrowding. We left the pool area immediately and proceeded to get lunch, only to face further disorganization and delays
