In Derek Bransfield’s studio, glass making becomes wonderfully tangible as the furnace heat meets careful technique. Begin with an introduction to the craft and the tools of the trade, then gather molten glass and shape it into a paperweight with expert guidance. Add colour for a personal finish before enjoying a glassblowing demonstration that reveals the next level of skill.

Available on selected dates, four or five times a year. All dates are subject to availability.
- Participant Guidelines
Minimum age: 18 years.
- Duration Detail
Morning classes run from 10am–1pm and afternoon classes run from 2.30pm–5.30pm. Please allow around three hours for this experience.
- Numbers On The Day
This voucher is valid for one person. Only paying participants can be accommodated in the studio.
- Dress Code
Wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty and bring a change of clothes if desired. Jewellery must not be worn and long hair should be tied back.
- Other Info
Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website. The workshop is shared with up to seven other participants and is led by two qualified instructors. If you'd like to keep your piece, it can be cooled, finished and posted for a £20 fee.
