Two Night Break for Two

I've just used my 2 night hotel break in Overstrand, Norfolk. Everything went smoothly from initially booking dates to checking out! The hotel was spotless and staff attentive. Location ideal....we could hearvthe sea from our bedroom, which was a 3 minute walk away.

I found it impossible to book our accommodation using my iPhone or my iPad. So had to use a desktop computer, then it was simple. Why could I not do it using the devices I always have with me? I think Red Letter Days should check the accommodation they advertise! Ours, Hopbine House in Hereford, was awful! Tired, outdated, grubby - although the bedding was clean. If it hadn’t been we wouldn’t have stayed there! - there was a layer of dust everywhere; the bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied; the shower was disgusting - we ran hot water over it before using it; the shower door was broken; there was a horrendous crack in the bathroom floor; the ‘jacuzzi’ bath was dirty & the bath panel was loose. The towels were old & threadbare & there were only two. There was another small (threadbare) towel in the bathroom, but we used that as a bath mat as there wasn’t a proper one. The property only had single glazed windows, so we’re constantly aware of road noise even though we were at the rear of the building. The view from our windows was shocking! The so called breakfast, which was delivered in bags to our door, was an absolute joke! We ate out both mornings. We had thought until we were en-route to The Hopbine that there would be a cooked breakfast. There was no contact with our ‘host’ other than by phone, which wasn’t clear on the website when trying to discover how we would gain access to the unmanned reception. The whole experience was truly terrible & my partner & I are left wondering what the other accommodation is like which Red Letter Days advertise. The Hopbine should be closed down by the local environmental health authority! When I looked at Trustpilot I found all the things we found had been complained about for the past 10 years!!! How is The Hopbine getting away with it??? Take it off your list of accommodation it’s letting you down! At the moment my partner & I would say no thank you to another Red Letter Days experience! Do something about it!!!

A great set up and perfect for a few days away. Everything we needed for some R&R, awesome views, super quiet and great BBQ both nights. It was a bit hot in the pod, but you can’t account for the British summer heatwave and we survived!!

Perfect break, comfortable pod, though the bed is a bit squeeky as it is a converted table like the caravan type. Nice clean, quiet site though out of school holiday time.
