Champagne Afternoon Tea at Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel for Two

I arrived at 2pm with an old friend to take the Champane Afternoon tea at the West Cliff Hotel. The hotel is lovely and we were seated at the table of our choice. A waitress brought a pot of tea straight away and my friend and I started to catch up on the news. After about 20 minutes we had to ask for milk to be brought by which time the tea had gone cold. Another couple arrived about this time. A few minutes later they were served with a cream tea while we were still waiting. We had to find a waitress to explain that we were still waiting for our food. It was now about 3pm. The food arrived and we asked for another pot of tea which was brought straight away. The food was delicious and more than enough for two of us. No complaints there. We finished our tea and were chatting again when we remembered that a glass of fizz was included in the package. I had to go to the bar to order this. The waitress that brought it to us apologised. At no time did anyone come over to ask us how we were getting along. Not at all what you expect from a 4 star hotel.
