Traditional Afternoon Tea

My Nephew and his wife bought this for us for our Xmas present. The Red Letter Day site is very user friendly, so I had no bother in getting our booking sorted. We had a fabulous time, the staff were very polite and helpful. The time limit of 1 hour and 45 mins was perfect. The food was plentiful and delicious. The ambience was great with a pianist playing, it added to the occasion, ( I must add , the pianist was brilliant, playing lots of songs that I particularly liked.......Abba, Elton John and tunes from The Phantom of the Opera.....fabulous. The overall experience was perfect 10 out of 10 .

Spent a lovely afternoon enjoying an Afternoon Tea for my partner and myself brought my son and daughter in law. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious and hotel and staff were warm and friendly couldn’t ask for a lovelier way to spend an afternoon.

The food was fresh, tasty and well presented, topped by excellent service from a polite and helpful young lady.

The best afternoon tea I have had in a very long time. The service we received from Saiful and Altay was excellent. Highly recommended.

Despite the original tea hall being closed for refurbishment, the temporary location was suitably grand. An accomplished piano player played modern tunes throughout. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The cream tea included a glass of champagne, your own choice of tea each and 2 plain and 2 fruit scones with clotted cream and jam. We were offered more scones and more tea which the server said were included, however 2 scones each and a pot full of tea was enough for us so we declined. Just a couple of things buyers should be aware of though - on booking you are asked to secure the booking with a credit card which will not be charged BUT if you cancel your booking within 24 hrs is charged at £25 pp. Also, your server brings a bill for optional service charge of 12.5% plus £1 pp cover charge - totalling £9.50 currently.

The afternoon tea for two was fantastic, really good food and lots to eat, the surroundings was so lovely and it wasn't busy.

Staff were friendly and welcoming from the start. The restaurant looked amazing, complete with pianist. And the tea was to die for. I've never had such tasty sandwiches and cakes. There was so much we went home with a doggy bag each.
