Spa Day with Afternoon Tea at Mercure Dartford Brands Hatch Hotel for Two

Lovely afteenoon tea and great spa facilities. Good value for money

Lovely little chilled break

Really bad experience from start to finish. We turned up to be told that there was an aqua class and then a children's swimming lessons until 11:30am which I was only made aware off I noticed after I had booked the date to attend not before hand. Otherwise I would have chosen a different date. There are not enough loungers.. only 7 for everyone, so we speant the whole time on a chair when we weren't in the water, not exactly a relaxing way to spend your time.. especially as people place their towels on the deck chairs all the time even when they aren't in use.. maybe this should be re-arranged so you can accommodate more? Afternoon tea- booked for 1pm - we arrived to no staff at all to tell you where to go.. we only sat where we thought as another couple had said they were there for afternoon tea. When the lady did come she confirmed our order with our pre-booked requirements and went off.. 50 min later we were served the wrong afternoon tea as is wasn't what we had ordered.. then had to wait again for this to be changed. Whilst sitting people are constantly walking through with their bags to their rooms- not overly nice when you're sitting in robe and slipper having other guests with all their bags coming in and out. The whole experience was poor and I would not recommend to anyone. It certainly isn't a spa at all. I asked to speak to a manager and again had to wait a good 10-15min finally she did apologise but everything was rushed and it just ruined the day. After we finally finished our afternoon tea at 3pm nearly 2 hours after the booking we left as just felt like the whole day wasn't overly njce or relaxing at all.

The spa afternoon was nice but my friends and I was astonished that a hotel can’t afford padlocks for the lockers in the changing room . We had to leave our bags behind the reception as we didn’t want to lug all of our possessions with us in the gym sauna steamer etc. it doesn’t cost much to get locks put on. This needs to be addressed being a hotel and spa !
