One Day Puffin Tour

Feed your inquisitive side with this eye opening puffin tour in a special conservation area of the Treshnish Isles. Whether a wildlife lover or an avid photographer, this tour is the perfect opportunity to get up close with the puffins, witnessing the majestic seabirds in their natural habitat. Along with up to 3000 puffins, the island is also home to a selection of other seabirds, including razorbills, guillemots and fulmars. Arrive via a small dingy, then explore the island by foot with an expert guide to hand and witness the puffins nesting in their cliff-side burrows and hunting for fish. Later in the season, guests may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the young pufflings poking their head out of the burrows. What an experience!

• Availability Description

  These trips run from April-July, on limited dates only (subject to availability).

• Participant Guidelines

  Minimum age 18. Participants need to be reasonably fit to undertake a full day at sea. Not recommended for anyone susceptible to seasickness. Landings are via small dingy so a basic level of fitness is required to hop on and off the boat.

• Weather

  This experience may be cancelled in adverse weather conditions, please contact the venue before setting off if in doubt.

• Duration Detail

  The tour lasts between eight and nine hours, with a break for lunch (refreshments and snacks are provided but please bring along a packed lunch).

• Numbers On The Day

  There are a maximum of 11 participants on the boat.

• Dress Code

  Life jackets are provided. Please wear sensible shoes and wrap up warm in chillier weather. A change of clothes is recommended. Binoculars and information guides are available onboard, but don't forget your camera to capture those wildlife close ups.
