Things to do in Ilfracombe

We were greeted warmly & shown to our room. Two flights of steep steps, not good but the manager saw my wife struggle with the climb & very kindly reallocated a room on the first floor. Excellent staff with a warm approach to guests. Breakfast - spot on to set you up for the day but do try a steak in the evening - fantastic.

An excellent overnight stay in a beautiful boutique hotel with great food. A real treat. Highly recommend!

Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Greeted with a roaring wood fire making the wet weather tolerable. Check in was seamless and the bar and restaurant very welcoming. Food was superb and staff polite, cheerful and helpful. Big bonus being dog friendly, they were accepted everywhere except the restaurant which was understandable. No problem we ate in the bar and as all the other guests did too it made for a really warm and friendly atmosphere. First visit here and it will definitely not be our last.

Take the leap, it was amazing. No issues with our voucher, all explained well. Get jumping!

We had a wonderful champagne afternoon tea at Sopwell House. The room the tea was served in was beautifully decorated. The champagne was served in elegant glasses and was very well chilled. The sandwiches were soft, fresh and nicely filled. The scones were warm and delicious and there was a very good variety of cakes. Staff were attentive and supported all of our needs, yet were not intrusive. We would definitely go back.

My wife bought me a voucher for my birthday back in January so I had a year to use it. We went to Portsmouth this week for a 2 day visit. It was fantastic - so much to see able so quick to get around with the pre-paid voucher. I absolutely loved it and I was surprised how much my wife enjoyed it too. We visited the Mary Rose, The Victory and other interesting historical ships in the Dockyard plus museums to see the conservation work being done. Everywhere is friendly, immaculate and so well presented. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

The experience has been booked whist we are in Dorset next week . Looking forward to it and straightforward to find a golf course near to where we are staying .
