Had a lovely afternoon tea. Fresh sandwiches. Yummy scones and fantastic cakes . Too many to finish so we (wife and me ) took some, along with my special birthday slice, home with us in a box . Very impressive first class hotel. Attentive waiter.

I took a friend. We are both coeliac and we were catered for with no problems. I would have liked another pot of tea offered to us but that's trivial. We both really enjoyed the lovely surroundings. The staff were very helpful and efficient .

The welcome and service was good and friendly. Good food. Actors brilliant with interesting twists. Good accommodation with delightful 4 footed ling eared neighbours. A few practical points: Entrance sign on the road hidden behind trees on inside bend - no time to turn left safely. Instructions on use of shower need to be provided, particularly with warning that water can become scalding hot.

We enjoyed a short break in one of the Rosebud Meadow pods - there are very comprehensive instructions about what to bring and what was already provided, so we knew what to expect. The pod was warm and cosy (and we had dry weather), and the shower block is immaculate (great water pressure and plenty of hot water). We enjoyed seeing the horses and goats abs bought some goats' milk toiletries as souvenirs as we left. Rosie always answered emails quickly leading up to our stay, and as everything was so well-prepared and explained, we didn't need to contact her whilst we were there. I was not sure what to expect as I have never been to a Slug and Lettuce before. My husband and I were very impressed with their burgers, very yummy. The whole meal was excellent. We only paid for the drinks and there were some amazing cocktails on the menu.
