The afternoon tea was traditional with 4 finger sandwiches each, (2 of which were the same) a delicious lemon posset, scone( a bit dry) with jam and cream and a selection of small cakes! All served with tea or coffee. I feel what let it down was the fact that once served we seemed to be ignored! We had to catch a waitress who was showing more people to their table to ask for a top up of milk and some butter for our scones which had been omitted from just our platter. The amble round the garden was a bit disappointing as there was lots of parkland but no formal garden as such; just a walk around a small pond and around the Hall. Overall, a bit of a disappointment!

Saltmarshe Hall is a beautiful old place, steeped in history and standing within substantial gardens. Our afternoon tea was beautifully presented and complemented with endless amounts of tea/coffee.
The two members of staff who welcomed/served us were lovely, making us feel very welcome. This visit was a gift and we shall certainly be very happy to visit again.

Beautiful original surroundings, service exceptional and the food was homemade. My husband is gluten-free and it was not a problem he had a good selection of both breads and fillings, scones and cakes. Really enjoyed the experience.

The venue was beautiful- we added a evening meal and stay with our afternoon tea and we’re not disappointed - all homemade treats on the afternoon tea - yum. The evening meal was exceptional and staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again.
