About the experience
Take to the skies in a restored Tiger Moth, the very biplane used by the RAF to train their pilots during the Second World War. Get transported to yesteryear and experience this historic plane in all it’s glory with a 20-minute flight with a pilot. Participants will be briefed by the pilot on arrival before getting kitted up in an authentic leather jacket and goggles. Once airborne, the pilot will talk through the workings of this vintage aircraft as well as demonstrate its capabilities. Fancy taking control? This experience includes the amazing option to take control of the plane!

Available March–October, except at the Gloucestershire venue which is open all year round. At the Shoreham location, it is available on Sundays only. All dates are subject to availability.
- Participant Guidelines
Minimum height: 4’11. Maximum weight: 16 stone. Participants should be agile as embarking and disembarking is difficult and requires flexibility. Not suitable for people who are pregnant, suffer from epilepsy, fits, severe head injuries, recurrent fainting, giddiness or blackouts, high blood pressure or heart conditions.

The aircraft used at the Gloucestershire location (Staverton) is actually a Stampe SV4c which is virtually identical to a Tiger Moth. Absolutely phenomenal
We were bought this as a gift, and finally managed to find time to go. We had an amazing day. Set off early to make the most of the museum, and arrived at opening time to take in the first hangar, and the cafe for a sausage bap. Then on to look at more exhibits before our flight. When it was fine for the flight, we had full instructions provided, and were loaded in to the Rapide. It was cosy but not uncomfortable. The actual flight was smooth with lots to look at, having been given a map of the route and landmarks we could see. We were up for 90 minutes, although we were in a holding pattern circling for a while as the commercial airports were needing us to stay out of the way for their flights. This did not detract at all from the experience, and is more than acceptable in the interests of air safety. On our return to Duxford, the landing was the smoothest i have ever experienced, a framed photo of us posing with the plane was available at the desk on leaving. This photo was £10 which was reasonable considering a digital copy is also available.

An awesome experience
An amazing opportunity to take to the air in and have control over a vintage Tiger Moth.
I loved every second and my 'pilot' was the epitome of experience, politeness and calm for the flight.

An amazing experience.
What an amazing experience, 75 minutes that I will never forget. On the day of our flight I was doubtful of what we would see as there was broken cloud, but my concern were unnecessary as we were below any cloud. There was so much to see and we spent ample time along the Thames to be able to see all the iconic buildings. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, which would reassure any nervous passenger. I would hesitate to go again should I get the chance. A lifetime experience to remember.
