Loud, closed and overrated

Booked for a Saturday night hoping to get some food and have a relaxed evening. The restaurant was booked for a private event that played music until after 12pm despite the site having a loud noise cut off from 11pm. Music from the restaurant played so loud that we didn’t sleep until it was turned off and considered packing up and going home in the middle of the night. Couldn’t park the car after we’d returned to the site after having some food due to the number of vehicles at the private event parking in the spaces for the pods. The pod had a heater, however it wasn’t powerful enough to heat the pod up. Sorely disappointed, incredibly sleep deprived and just glad the local pub served a decent meal.

Pleasant one night's stay

Booked and used a pod at Dacre lakeside Park, great location with a nice view overlooking the lake. Had some difficulty finding a location to use the voucher though, as many of the locations listed do not accept the voucher in peak times even though the pods are available to book through their own website.

Okay for 1 night stay

We stayed in a family pod near the lake which was a lovely location however, on arrival there was a lot of flies in our pod and the cleanliness of the pod was very basic. The curtains were full of dead flies and stains. Overall we had a pleasant stay but just make sure you bring fly spray!

Not a Glamping Experience

I was bought a one night Glamping Experience for my birthday and booked 2 nights at Dacre Lakeside Park. We were told when booking that we needed to bring everything with us as the pod only contained a 6A plug socket and a heater. I would not class this as a Glamping Experience but rather a basic camping experience in a camping pod (hardly a camping cabin!). The washing up facilities were inadequate as there was only one sink and no hot water. The shower and toilet facilities were shared with day visitors to the lake and left in a mess and not cleaned often enough. Cleaning equipment was available for people to clean up after themselves and a sign requesting people to do so but this clearly isn't working. A cold shower greeted us on the first morning. We got up at 7.30 AM the second day to leave and the water was warm then. There is no shop onsite, so we had to make a 15 minute walk to the shop in the nearest village for supplies, however the Bar and Pizza restaurant were available for food and drinks. Ok if you want a basic camping experience without the hassle of putting up and taking down a tent but definitely not Glamping.
