Really lovely food, plenty of variety with the dishes, the cocktails were really lovely too.

Opportunity to explore a new area with a two night stay away. We paid along with the red letter voucher for a fantastic location in historic Woodstock at The Bear

The welcome and service was good and friendly. Good food. Actors brilliant with interesting twists. Good accommodation with delightful 4 footed ling eared neighbours. A few practical points: Entrance sign on the road hidden behind trees on inside bend - no time to turn left safely. Instructions on use of shower need to be provided, particularly with warning that water can become scalding hot.

When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff who were very helpful and took us to the restaurant. It was delightfully decorated and we were quickly taken to our table. We had made a couple of requests regarding what we wanted and these were immediately mentioned and assured were being followed. A glass of champagne each was poured and we toasted the occasion. The sandwiches were very nice with different tasty breads for each sandwich. The scones were nice and freshly made. The cakes were great although by this time we were too full to eat them and so they were neatly packed in a box for us to take home. We enjoyed them the following evening and they were scrumptious. All I can add is that Sopwell House is a lovely place, our experience couldn't have been better, a big thankyou to all the staff who helped make the day special.

The hotel staff was lovely and friendly The room a bit small but was fine as we were only sleeping in Evening meal was lovely but disappointed I could not have my first choice on main or desert as they had run out But overall we loved staying here

Gorgeous hotel. Wonderful decor. Friendly staff and good food. Breakfast was exceptional. Would highly recommend.

Arrived on a very rainy day and were able to dry off in front of a log burner with a relaxing glass of wine. Staff were all very friendly. Room was perfect to house us and our dog - very clean. The evening meal and breakfast were delicious. We will be back to stay again.
