Short Breaks in York

It was a wonderful day, spent 5 hours there. The whole volunteer team are a credit, so good to see some young ones in the mix as well. The afternoon tea was lovely and the home made scones were superb and that is coming from a Cornish girl

Lovely relaxing hotel would definitely visit again

Paul was the perfect host and font of all knowledge. His expertise is second to none. Explained the background to distilling and what the process was to produce the perfect gin. We had a gin on arrival, another during our time there and a lovely little grazing board. My finished bottle came with a personalised label. We stayed after as the distillery has a fabulous bar to continue our tasting experience! Would absolutely recommend.

The venue was good friendly staff,food was good ,the atmosphere was of a friendly but competitive. The cast held their own with the buzz of the crowd with the storyline being laid outand the clues giving an insight into a good whodunit. My wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly. RED letter should hold their heads up high

Me and my partner stayed in a pod and we were amazed by how nice it was. There is a lovely river as you look out the door and was very quiet and relaxing. The toilet/shower facilities were spotless. Loads to do in the area. .

Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Greeted with a roaring wood fire making the wet weather tolerable. Check in was seamless and the bar and restaurant very welcoming. Food was superb and staff polite, cheerful and helpful. Big bonus being dog friendly, they were accepted everywhere except the restaurant which was understandable. No problem we ate in the bar and as all the other guests did too it made for a really warm and friendly atmosphere. First visit here and it will definitely not be our last.

We had an amazing weekend in York. The hotel was fab and using Red Letter was so simple. Would recommend to use them

Lovely afternoon tea in lovely surroundings with lovely staff. Everyone and everything was perfect

excellent hotel, room ample but not luxurious, wonderful setting, great staff (except one rather racist or at least very impatient staff member at breakfast with some other guests struggling with our language), and wonderful food, especially the 7 course taster menu

Booking was easy and hassle free and the sights of York did not disappoint, something for everyone.

With a range of locations and hotels to chose from, we opted for the Talbot Hotel in the lovely market town of Ledbury. The Talbot like many of the building in the town is a picturesque timber framed building bursting witj character. Our room was a good size and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. Would definitely recommend this for an overnight break.
